Sure, the internet is becoming more and more commercial, and to a degree that's ok. That is to say, we're all free to put up any content we want. They're free to try and sell us stuff over the interbutts and we're free to tell them to fuck off *shrugs*, same as anywhere else. That all fits within the realm of network neutrality. Where it ceases to exist is when corporations own the internet and tell you what you can and cannot do or say via your intertubes. Think of the whole "big brother" government model from 1984, that's basically what the corporations seek to do to our internets for lolz and profit (mostly the profit). Think of the current scenario...you turn on your TV, there's 57 channels and nothing on. So, you log on to the internet and can find something to entertain you at no charge. Under the new way, there would be 57 million channels and nothing on...if you want the good stuff (your messaging, your gaming, blogging, whatever) that will cost you by the instance (pay per visit, etc) in addition to your internet bill. Then there's the whole other side of things, such as: If the corporations control all the media it allows and will definately result in corruption via corporate bribery. There's nothing good that will come of it really. The internet will just be used as yet another tool of disinformation, indoctrination and marketing. Network Neutrality is the AIDS/Cancer eating away at the interbutts.
