A radio advertisement running in Maryland, produced by the National Black Republican Association, has been drawing heat for claiming that Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was really a Republican and that Democrats opposed all civil rights legislation from the 1860’s to the 1960’s and were responsible for starting the Ku Klux Klan.

So after recovering from my hangover, I think the party was fantastic. Unfortunately we had to move it as the neighbour apparently had to work at 5 the next morning. Oh well. It was good here while it lasted. FYI, there is no video evidence of anything. It was destroyed, like the toaster. Thanks to everyone for coming out! We’ll do it again soon.

In other news, I had some stern words with Scotiabank today. I didn’t think I’d gotten anywhere, but then late this afternoon I got a call from Judy saying that they were putting the stolen money back in my account tomorrow and then reactivating my account. Hooray!

It’s been a good day, and I feel good about life in general. I think I’ll try to be productive this week.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!
Due to rain, the party is just going to start at Calvin’s @ 6:00pm.

I’m sick today. No worries. So far as I can tell it’s only a cold. And not the worst one I’ve ever had, but it made me miss most of the coffee house. I woke up feeling alright, then realized that standing vertically made me feel much worse. Owen bought me some Buckley’s DM. which is teriffic. It helped with the physical symptoms. Then this made my brain feel much better.

It’s going to be a busy week! Here’s what’s on my agenda.

Tonight: There’s a coffee house at the Downtown Bookstore. It starts at 6:30pm. I’m taking my guitar, but not planning on playing it. But I may be persuaded, if I’m in a good mood.

Friday: Birthday party for Christian. He’s turning two, yay! Then there’s a party at Robert’s house. I don’t think I’m going however, as I previously made plans with Devon, unless she decides she wants to go there.

Saturday: Party at the West Rocks, followed by a rave here. If you want to join our expedition to the rocks, I’d suggest showing up here at 5pm or so. If you’re later than that, you can always call me for directions. It will be in the usual spot, if you know where that is.

Sunday: TV night will NOT be open invite this weekend. We’re going to keep it nice and quiet because of all the partying going on the previous two evenings. If you haven’t spoken to me personally, please don’t just randomly show up. I may very well not let you in, and then everyone will be sad!

Monday: Karaoke in Meaford with Mary. This time I’m going for sure! It’s on my schedule.

Right now I am exactly 3,788.3Km away from the place I was born. It’s weird! We left when I was one year old, so I have no concious memory of it, and I’ve never been back since. I want to go and visit, but it costs a lot of money.

So last night I invited Owen and Rob over to make fries, have a few drinks, and watch The Legend of Ron Burgundy. It accidentally turned into a bit of a party. There were near 20 people here. It was a good time, I think. I don’t really remember it all, but the bits I do seemed fun.

Tonight (yes tonight for real this time. It’s actually friday now) I’m leaving town for a couple days. I’m going to party with my old friends from high school. It should be wonderful. I haven’t seen most of them for a long long time. I’ll be back sunday afternoon in time for the TV Night party.

Also. Robert really wants me to tell you that there’s a party at his place tonight. 443 Alpha St. 7pm. BYOB. Etc. More info here.

I just finished The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test and decided to watch the music video for The Chemical Brothers - The Test before I take the book back to the library. It’s a fantastic video, and the song’s pretty good too. I reccomend you watch it. NOW!

SO, once upon a time banks existed to keep your money safe. This afternoon I got a call from my bank. Apparently an empty envelope was deposited to an ATM in Scarburough on Sept. 8, but the person entered $1460 as the amount, then withdrew $500. Obviously as soon as the bank discovered that money was not in the envelope they froze my account and started a fraud investigation. They say it was definitly done with my bank card, though it’s possible someone managed to duplicate the card. So this afternoon I spent an hour at the bank signing all sorts of papers and answering a lot of questions about my bank card usage and assuring them that I still had posession of it. They will update me as the case progresses. In the meantime, I’m unable to access my account. This is not a major drawback as I didn’t really have any money in it anyways, but the whole thing is very perplexing and annoying, and I’m afraid I’ll get stuck with the charges. That would not be fantastic. At least they didn’t treat me like they assumed it was all my doing when I went to the bank.

Shortly before the call I had some motivation to get some video editing work done. It’s gone now. That’s what I’m most annoyed at.

Thank you Lauren for getting that delicious Lemon Merengue pie! Unfortunately it didn’t stay in my stomach for too long. Liana, I hope I didn’t say anything dumb.. I may have been a bit drunk. Damn the LCBO for closing on time, though in retrospect it may have been a very good thing that we couldn’t get in. Thanks Michelle for making tea and stuff. I’d say I’m never drinking like that again, but it’s probably not true. I’ll just try to get less sick next time.

The weatherman says showers and thunderstorms starting this afternoon and going all evening. That might make pieday very soggy. Is there an emergency backup plan?

I’m back from Toronto… Empty handed. There were some problems. I’m sorry! No souvenirs for anyone. Not even me. It wasn’t the best trip ever. I’m glad to be home. I’ll see people at pieday tomorrow. Goodnight!

TV Night was great. There were 17 people in my little appartement. Good times were had by all. Thanks to everyone who came over, and thanks for making it FUN!

I’d like to have another big party sometime in the near future. A start of school bash or something, only next time with more drinks. School starts tomorrow. Ha ha ha ha!

I’m going to Toronto on thursday. If you want souvenirs, talk to Rob S. TODAY! I have to order them tonight, and he’ll need cash before thursday evening.

And now it’s time to do the dishes. Hooray…

Everyone’s invited tonight! Bring some “stuff” to share! Food, drinks, smokables, or whatever. It’s going to be a party worthy of the end of summer. Which is to say, it might suck. But there’ll be TV!
